Blanche Tedford

August 3, 1914 — October 12, 2008

Henderson: Blanche Rachel Brewer Tedford, age 94, died October 12, 2008 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.



She was born in McNairy County and raised in Chester County, the daughter of the late Robert S. “Bob” and Elizabeth Davis Brewer. She attended schools in Chester County and in 1935 was married to Dan S. Tedford. They made their home in Sweetlips Community. She was employed at Salant & Salant Mfg. for twenty six years and then worked for Belleview Apparel in Jackson and later retired from Goodwin Mfg. Mr. Tedford died in 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Henderson, the Order of the Eastern Star #120 in Henderson, the First Baptist Church Quilting Ladies, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW #1848 in Jackson. She was a volunteer at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, having volunteered over 1,000 hours.



She is survived by a son, Harold Wayne Tedford and wife Brenda of Henderson; three grandchildren, Michael Tedford and wife Katrina, Regina Tignor and husband Tommy and Jimmy Tedford wife Teresa; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Rev. Douglas Brewer of Jackson and Robert Brewer of Henderson; one sisters, Frances Busby of Henderson.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan S. Tedford (1994); three brothers, Joe Brewer, James Brewer and an infant brother and two sisters, Johnnie Bryant and Bessie Rankin.
