Billy Joe Wolfe was born February 6, 1931 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late Will and Zula King Wolfe.He was united in marriage to Demovia Gray on January 6, 1951.Mr. Wolfe was a retired Funeral Director, having worked with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer for 30 years. He then served 18 years as McNairy County Trustee, and retired from that position having never been opposed for re-election. Mr. Wolfe was a member of the First Baptist Church of Selmer, where he formerly served as a Sunday School Teacher and Deacon, as well as working with various church committees. He was named Deacon Emeritius in 2005. He was a member of the Selmer Lions Club, Selmer Masonic Lodge and Al Chymia Temple of the Shrine, and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.Mr. Wolfe departed this life on December 15, 2006 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 75 Years, 10 Months, 9 Days. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Demovia Wolfe of Selmer, Tennessee; a daughter, Charlotte Mitchell and husband Jerry of Selmer, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Andrea Mitchell; a grandson, Ross Mitchell; a brother, James N. Wolfe of Selmer, Tennessee; and a sister, Nola Case of Selmer, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wolfe was also preceded in death by a son, Joe Neal Wolfe on January 30, 1975.
