Billy Gene Whitaker

Billy Gene Whitaker was born November 24, 1929 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late Marshal Wesley and Minnie F. Willis Whitaker.
He was united in marriage to Audrey Marie Hill on March 16, 1952. Mrs. Whitaker preceded him in death on April 16, 2012. They were married for 60 years.
Mr. Whitaker served in the United States Army during World War II and Korean Conflict. He worked for the pipeline as a dynamite foreman.
Mr. Whitaker departed this life on February 15, 2022 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 2 Months, 22 Days. He is survived by close family friends, Stacey Baxter of Corinth, MS and John David Hill of Selmer, TN; nephew, Richard Whitaker and wife Doris of Selmer, TN; nieces, Pat Jones and Shirley Montgomery all of Selmer, TN, Sue Nell Fine of Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Shari Boyd and husband David, Kristi Winters and husband Bradley, Greg Whitaker, Marty Whitaker and wife Cindy; and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by son, Joe Dan Whitaker.
