He departed this life on March 7, 2006 at Hardin Home in Savannah at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 14 days.

3 brothers: Bobby Joe Stricklin of Florence, Alabama
O.C. Stricklin of Savannah, Tennessee
George Stricklin of Cypress Inn, Tennessee
and 2 sisters: Inez Stricklin and Lorene Franks, both of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Henry Stricklin and 5 sisters: Betty Jean Stricklin, Pearl Hughes, Margaret Stricklin, Polly Franks and Gladys Robbins.
