BILLY ‘BILL’ STEELMAN
Henderson, TN: Billy Joe Steelman age 78 passed away June 18, 2016 at his home near Henderson.
He was born August 14, 1937 in Winkelman, AZ and reared in Wyoming, Washington and California, the son of the late Clinton Dugan and Helen Kathrine Lowe Steelman. He married Elwanda Maxine Barrett of California in 1956. They made their home in Washington State and in numerous states where Mr. Steelman followed the construction business. They moved to Henderson in 1997. He was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
Mr. Steelman is survived by two sons, Curtis Steelman and wife Cindy of Henderson and Clayton Steelman and wife Elen of Connecticut; a daughter, Brenda Gee and husband Junior of Amarillo, TX; eight grandchildren, Amanda Cothrin, Lindsay Taylor, Ashley, Kyle, and Joshua Steelman, Will ‘Cisco’ Berry, Matthew and Jonathan Kovarik; ten great grandchildren, Aden, Brice, Braylee and Emma Cothrin, Peyton, Chase, and Addison Taylor and Jackson, Brianna and Mackenzie Kovarik and two half-sisters, Teri Howard and Kathy Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elwanda Maxine Barrett Steelman in 2012, a son, Clinton Steelman in 1978; a daughter, Linda Berry in 2008; a sister, Betty Wilkins and two brothers, Clinton Steelman and Clifton Steelman.
Funeral services will be 5:00 PM, Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ben Flatt and Roy Sharp officiating.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Tuesday.
