Billy Edward Russom age, 80, pass from this life on Sunday evening February 4, 2007 at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee of congestive heart failure.He was the retired owner of Russom Crane Service, which he operated for 34 years before closing the business in 2003. He was a car racing enthusiast, and he raced and owned cars that were prominent at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas, and other local racetracks. He was a \"RacingLegend\" honoree at Memphis Motor Sports Park, and a Memphis Pink Palace Racing Exhibit Contributor in 1999.Mr. Russom was a lifetime member of the Summer Ave. Masonic Lodge and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.He was born in McNairy County, Tennessee, and lived there until he joined the Navy and served as a Seabee during World War II. He moved to Memphis after the war. He leaves two children, Rose Russom and Michael Russom, both of Memphis. He also leaves two sisters, Mary Sue Cox of Collierville, Tennessee and Martha Lou Little and her husband Don of Clinton, Mississippi; and one brother, Ernest Russom and his wife Doris of Brandon Mississippi.Mr. Russom was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Rosa Henson Russom and his former wife, Mary Hendricks Russom.
