Mr. Richardson passed away Monday afternoon at Bolivar General Hospital.
The husband of Julia C. Richardson, who survives, he retired in 1981 as a deck hand in the river barge. Mr. Richardson was born to the late Chester Richardson and Maggie Dowty Richardson and lived most of his life in Hardeman County. He had been a drummer for the Wolf River Band and various other bands in the area, going by "Wild Bill". He was a member of Pocahontas First Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married September 10, 1971, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Machelle Park and Tim of Pocahontas; a son and his wife, William E. "Eddie" Richardson, Jr. and Autumn of Pocahontas; a sister and her husband, Nelda Jean Cochran and Jerry of Calera, AL; five grandchildren, Ashley Wilbanks, Kayla Park, Jonathon Wilbanks, Kendall Park, Madison Richardson; and two nephews and a niece whom he was very close to, Jerry Cochran, Jr., Jeremy Doyle and Nancy Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Reece Richardson; a nephew, Kerry Neal Wilbanks; and an aunt, Frances Richardson.
