Five Points: Billy Joe Pierce, age 79, passed away Monday night, September 23, 2019 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born December 14, 1939 in the Five Points community of Chester County, the son of the late Ernest Millard and Madeline Evans Pierce. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1959. He married Lynn Stockard in 1971 and they made their home in Henderson and the Five Points community. He worked in production and inventory control management at American Olean Tile and later with Southeastern Boll Weevil Eradication Program.

He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church, a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and he and Lynn were involved in senior member services.

Lynn preceded in death in 2007.

He enjoyed gardening and was a St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Mr. Pierce is survived by two daughters, Polly Robison and husband Phillip and Paige Jordan and husband Mark all of Five Points; six grandchildren, Reese Robison, Garrett Robison, Pierce Jordan, Cole Jordan, Rex Jordan and Jovie Jordan and two sisters, Eva Ruth Warren of Clifton and Becky Wright of Henderson.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, at New Friendship Cemetery, with Dr. Keith Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
