Mr. Oaks died Sunday, April 20, 2008 in Walnut, MS.



The son of Duff and Bobbie Eunice Dale Oaks, he was a resident of Pocahontas for the last 20 years and a native of Sarah, MS. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the US Army as a paratrooper and worked as a MIG Welder for an electric co-op. He was also a member of the NRA, American Legion and North American Hunting Club.



He leaves 4 daughters - Michelle Oaks of Pleasanton, TX, Barbara Aubrey of Senatobia, MS, Jessica Chessor of Pocahontas and Beth Oaks of Stockdale, TX; 3 sons - Billy Rayford Oaks, Jr. of Walnut, Benny Russell Oaks of Marietta, MS and Jonathan Oaks of Pocahontas; 6 sisters - Claudia Mae Robertson of Sardis, MS, Christine Castellaw of Somerville, Kathleen Oaks of Florida, Paulette Oaks of Texas, Bobbie Jean and Bettie Dean Oaks, both of Hendersonville, TN; 2 brothers - Jimmy Oaks of San Antonio, TX and Edward Oaks of Killeen, TX; 12 grandchildren - Joshua Drew, Dillen, Billie Jean, Samson Blade and Austin Taylor Oaks, Jerrid Michael and Derek Allen Rodriguez; Shelby Dianne, Clayton Chase and Blake Andrew Chessor, Ashley Moore and Drew Beck; 1 great-granchild, Clara Moore; former wives, Dianne Jones and Mary Lou Barth and a special friend, Harold Essary.



He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Richard Stappenbeck; a sister, Duffie Oaks and a great-grandchild, Olivia Moore.
