Billy Joe Moore

Billy Joe Moore of Iron City, TN was born July 27, 1951 in Iron City, TN, the son of the late Billy Russ Moore and Bertie Ruth Kelley Moore Paulson and husband, Don Paulson. He was united in marriage to Deborah Jo Haynes Moore on January 16, 1970 and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2009.

Mr. Moore was a retired machinist from TVA and a farmer. He was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Iron City, Tennessee, a member of Machinist Local #65 and a member of Masonic Lodge #702. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in Vietnam and also, served in the Kansas National Guard for five years.

He is survived by a son, Billy Russ (Rusty) Moore of Iron City, TN; three daughters, Peggy Daniel and husband, Greg of Iron City, TN, Jennifer Moore of Collinwood, TN and Codie Saint and husband, Heath of Cullman, AL; grandchildren, Blaze Daniel, Ryley Daniel, Mariah Holt, Atticus Saint, Abe Saint, Alex Moore and Ace Moore and was expecting his first great-grandson, Archer Blaze Daniel in April, 2021; two brothers, Dwain Moore of Iron City, TN and Donnie Paulson of Town Creek, AL; four sisters, Glenda Franks of Florence, AL, Brenda Beckham of Leighton, AL, Vicky Durkin of Lexington, KY and Tobitha Bousman of Beach Island, SC and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Dixon and Shelia Ann Moore.

Services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Iron City, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Pallbearers will be Chris Odle, Eric Moore, Jason Parrish, Michael Malone, Lance Tripp, Kelsey Moore and Russell Moore with honorary pallbearers being Ace Moore, Jessie Bousman and Cameron Paulson.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 12 pm to service time at the funeral home.
