Mr. Lovelace died Tuesday afternoon at the Bolivar General Hospital.
A native of Lauderdale Co., TN, he was the son of the late James Franklin "Jim" Lovelace and Allie Hoggard Lovelace. He married the former Margie Irene Williamson on August 31, 1957 in Friendship, TN and they had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The Lovelace's have lived in Hardeman County since 1967.
Mr. Lovelace was a member of the Saulsbury Baptist Church, a former Saulsbury volunteer fireman and served many years on the board of the Saulsbury Library. A Master Mason, he worked 10 years as a security guard at Western Mental Health Institute. In his spare time, he loved to be with his grandchildren, fixing lawnmowers for his friends and was an avid woodworker, especially with cedar.
He leaves his wife, Margie of Saulsbury; three daughters, Cynthia Watkins of Saulsbury, Patricia Andrews of Iron, MN and Sheila Chastan, also of Minnesota; two sons, Allen Lovelace and his wife, Linda of Bolivar and John Lovelace of Jackson; six grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew and Sara Watkins, Wesley and Carson Lovelace and John Wilder, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Deloyce Nix; and two brothers, Joe and Wymond Lovelace.
