BILLY JONES, age 80 of Henderson, TN died May 30, 2009 at the Jackson Madison- County General Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Shackelford – Casey Chapel with Bro. Ben Flatt and Bro. Daniel Hope officiating and burial will be in the Henderson City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 8:00PM on Monday.
Billy was born in Jackson and reared in Halls, TN, the son of the late Lucius Bradford and Mary Geneva Kee Jones. He attended schools in Lauderdale County and graduated from Halls High School in 1946. He went to Freed-Hardeman College for 2 years and then to David Lipscomb University. He married Jean Brewer of Bemis in 1953 and they made their home in Henderson. He and his wife owned and operated the B & G Dry Good Store in Henderson until 1985 and in 1986 he went to work at Nando Jones Department Store in Jackson. He loved to fish and loved all board game, especially Scrabble and Checkers. Mrs. Jean died in 2002. Billy was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter Cindy Jones Pearce and husband James of Culleoka, TN Two sons Harold Jones and wife Patsy of Oneida TN, and Robert Jones of Jackson. A special sister –n- law Maggie Nell Brewer. He had 5 grandchildren: Adam Jones and Emily Jones of Oneida, TN and, Lillie Pearce, Sara Pearce and J.T. Pearce all of Culleoka, TN.
