Billy Joe Ross

Billy Joe Ross was born on January 1, 1935 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son the late Cecle and Betty Olene Ross. 

On March 18, 1995, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Winston, who survives.

Billy was a machine operator for Box Company. He was a mason. Billy loved listening to jazz music, walking, cleaning and cooking fish, and spending time with his family.

Billy Joe Ross departed this life on September 15, 2023 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 8 months, and 14 days.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ross of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Gloria Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Shelia Ross of Chicago, Illinois; sons, John Ross of Savannah, Tennessee, Bill Hill of Maryland, and Clarence Whitehead of Chicago, Illinois; brother, Charles Ross; daughter-in-law, Betty Nell Ross; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by sons, Billy Eckstine Ross and Dean Whitehead "Bubba"; daughter, Linda Bingham; sisters, Maud Goodlow, Dora Ross, and Betty Jo Casey; and brothers, Cecle Ross, Jr. and Louis Ross.
