Billy Gipson Hardin

Billy Gipson (Gip) Hardinwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 30, 1921 the son of the late Charlie and Betsy Hardin.On May 12, 1943 he was united in marriage to Mary Frances McCasland, who survives.Mr. Hardin served in the U.S. Navy and was in the farming and timberland business for 47 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, story telling, local history, and looking for land. He was a member of Mt. View Church of Christ.Mr. Hardin departed this life at Hardin Medical Center on Friday, July 11, 2008 at the age of 87 years, 11 days.In addition to his wife, Mary Frances, he is survived by a son: Jimmy L. Hardin of Savannah, Tennessee; three daughters: Janice Davis and Regina Parker both of Savannah, Tennessee, Phyllis Bullard of Morris Chapel, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Sammy T. Hardin; a sister: Inez Hardin; a brother: Mart Hardin.
