Mr. Billy Gene Graves of Bolivar departed this life at the age of 38 Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Bolivar General Hospital.
He was born in Jackson, Tennessee July 24, 1974 to William Graves of Toone and Patricia Crouse of Selmer, both of whom survive. He worked in the logging business at B & L Logging Company before becoming disabled in 2001. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Bolivar. He lived most of his life in Hardeman County except for one year in Selmer.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Graves is survived by his son, Justin Graves of Bolivar; stepson, Phillip Jones of Bolivar; stepmother, Lavelle Graves of Toone; sister, Brandy Lynn Martinez and husband Luz of Selmer; half-brother, Jeremy Graves of Middleton; five stepsisters, Shasity Mynatt of Toone, Lenita Griffin of Toone, Cathy Hopkins of Bolivar, Beverly Ferge of Whiteville and Angie Upton of Mercer; maternal grandmother, Thelma Turner of Middleton; stepgrandchild, Chloe Jones of Bolivar; one niece and three nephews.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Katherine Graves who passed away in 2004, a stepbrother, Randy Mynatt, his paternal grandparents, William and Elsie Graves, and maternal grandfather, Duke Jackson.
