Billy Joe Goodrum

Billy Joe Goodrum was born January 24, 1935 in McNairy County, TN the son of the late William Earl Goodrum and Annie Pearl Miller Goodrum.He was united in marriage to Virginia Mae Davidson on September 4, 1990.Mr. Goodrum retired from the United States Navy after serving his country for over 20 years. He earned several medals during his career including four good conduct award medals, Bronze Star on National Defence Service Medal, and Vietnam Service Medal.Mr. Goodrum departed this life on December 21, 2011 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 10 Months, 27 Days. He is survived by his wife Virginia Mae (Davidson) Goodrum of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Luella Saunier of Chickamauga, GA; three stepsons, Stacy Hill of Jackson, TN, Freddie Hill of Jackson, TN, Al Beaudry of California; five sisters, Mary Earline Acree of Jackson, TN, Virginia Saunier of Memphis, TN, Anna Lee Weir of Savannah, TN, Peggy Ryan of Jackson, TN, Dorothy Scott of Indiana; a brother, Kenneth Hawkins of Selmer, TN; 14 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; host of extended famiy and friends.In addition to his parents, Mr. Goodrum was preceded in death by two sisters, Rebecca Holland, Martha Britt.
