Billy G. Galbraith departed this life on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 23 days. He was born in Calion, Arkansas, on September 11, 1927, the son of the late Jesse and Hazel Brent Galbraith. On January 21, 1950, he was united in marriage to Imogene Reynolds, who preceded him in death on October 20, 2014.
Mr. Galbraith had lived in Crossett, Arkansas, Pineville, Louisiana most of his life, and most recently Counce, Tennessee. He served his country honorably in the Navy during W.W.II and was stationed in Hiroshima. He was Data Processing Manager for International Paper and a member of the Tishomingo Baptist Church. Billy loved fishing and was a people person. He will be most remembered for being a very kind and generous man, who was a good loving father, and loved his family.
He is survived by his sons, David Bruce Galbraith and his wife, Margurite of Greenbriar, Arkansas, Gerald Matthew Galbraith and his wife, Debbie of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, John Michael Galbraith and his wife, Carrie and Lesley Galbraith; great grandchildren, Ryan Galbraith, Leah Galbraith, and Matt Galbraith; sister, Alice Williams of West Memphis, Arkansas; and brother, Jesse "Fritz" Galbraith of Thomasville, Alabama.
