Mr. Deming departed this life Sunday morning, January 27, 2013 at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
The husband of Shirley J. Baker Deming, who survives, he worked as a welder, operating his own shop, Deming Welding. He also taught welding at the Whiteville Vo-Tech school for about 8 years and was the Hardeman County Animal Control officer for 8 years. He was born July 6, 1930, in Chester County, son of the late Coleman A. and Maude Henson Deming and had lived in Hornsby, Bolivar, Mableton, Georgia and Whitehaven. He served in the US Navy from 1951-55 aboard the USS Hollister as a TM3 and was a Deacon with the Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, whom he married on April 9, 1955, survivors include a
daughter and her husband, Beth and Tim Latch of Ripley, MS; two sons and a
daughter in law, Joey Deming of Bolivar, Keith and Tiffaney Deming of Bolivar; six grandchildren, Dai Moralez, Renee Kee, Lauren McDaniel, Christopher, Brittany and Chris Deming; two step grandchildren, Cody Smith and Jakob Burnett; three great grandchildren, Clay and Emma Moralez and Bentley Kee; and a brother, Malva Deming of Appalachain, NY. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Alva Deming.
