Billy Harold (Bill) Brewer

Billy Harold (Bill) Brewer of Waynesboro, TN was born March 28, 1937 in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late Doc and Oma Smith Brewer. Mr. Brewer was retired from Wayne County Solid Waste and was a member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee but had worked with the Waynesboro Police Department over 20 years, having served as Chief of Police several of those years.
He departed this life on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his home at the age of 81 Years, 9 Months, and 18 Days.
He is survived by three sons, Jason Brewer and wife, Megan of Murfreesboro, TN, Steven Beverly and wife, Tina of Cleveland, TN and Doug Brewer of Pikeville, TN; three daughters, Shannon Anderson and husband, Brent of Savannah, TN, Valerie Crews and husband, Brian of Collinwood, TN and Yulonda Newsome and husband, Edward of Pikeville, TN; grandchildren, Tanner Beverly, Trevor Beverly, Cory Gilbert, Molly Wilson, Katie Brewer, Emma Brewer, Ally Crews, Brinn Crews, Nick Anderson, Hunter Crews, Kayla Calton, Jacob Sewell, Noah Sewell, Janna Anderson, Mary Kadar, Jason Newsome, Rocky Newsome and Adam Newsome; great-grandchildren, Jacie Gilbert, MaKinzie Wilson, Kyndall Wilson, Sydney Newsome, Jacob Newsome and Max Newsome; brother, Bob Brewer of Hohenwald, TN and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Kallie Gilbert; six brothers, Condred Brewer, Cranston Brewer, Elliott Brewer, E. J. Brewer, Hassel Brewer and Carl Mac (Goody) Brewer and four sisters, Christine Lindsey, Alora Selger, Cleta Brewer and Norma Jean Scarentino.
Services will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with David Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Methodist Church Cemetery, Wayne County, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers will be Nick Anderson, Tanner Beverly, Brian Miller and Barry Miller.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 4 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 1 pm to service time at the funeral home.
