She was united in marriage to J. T. McMurry, who preceded his wife in death.

She departed this life on December 1, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 98 years, 10 months, and 12 days.
Billie is survived by her children, Larry Alexander of Sweeny, Texas and Sherry Hall of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jeff Alexander, Keith Alexander, and Kevin Alexander all of Sweeny, Texas, and Angie Hurst, Lindsay Franks, and Molly Gilchrist, all of Savannah, Tennessee; 12 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Howard Alexander; second husband, J. T. McMurry; and sister, Jean Sheffield.
