Bill English, 64, of Hickory Valley, departed this life Saturday night, July 16, 2016 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
A native of Nashville, he was born May 21, 1952 to the late Norris Leo English and Billie Ruth Grantham English and lived here since 1981. He worked as a correctional officer with CCA since it's opening in 1997 and was part of the construction of the facility. He also was the former district manager for about 16 years for Handleman Records out of Little Rock, Arkansas. An avid musician, he loved to play music and sing, being proficient in the guitar and harmonica. Other interests he had centered around fishing and hunting and 'loving every day'. He served in the National Guard and was Baptist in faith.
Survivors include the mother of his children, Susan English of Hickory Valley; four daughters, Rachel Ingle (Mike) of Middleton, Jennifer English of Saulsbury, Carly Benishin (Hadley) of Middleton and Detra English-Stone of Portland, TN; a son, J. D. Mudgett of Portland, TN; two sisters, Debora Kennedy of Old Hickory and Sandra Singleton of Jacksonville, AR; two brothers, Robert English and Danny Norman, both of Mt. Juliet, TN; and seven grandchildren, Shelby Parker, Austin Mitchell, Landen Grantham, Taylor Sinclair, Levi Benishin, Tyler Stone and Hayden Mudgett.
