Bill C Davis
was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee on August 6, 1930 the son of the late Henry and Roxie Davis.
On September 3, 1977 he was united in marriage to the former Nell Brown Walker, who survives.
Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was a retired teacher and high-school football and basket-ball coach. He also worked at Temple Chattanooga Box Company in quality control, as a substitute teacher and for Savannah Insurance Agency. He lived in Florida for two years, but lived most of his life in Tennessee.
Mr. Davis was a member of the First Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
He departed this life on January 9, 2007 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 3 days.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Nell Brown Walker Davis of Savannah, Tennessee;
2 daughters: Diana Stacey and Deborah Roberts, both of Lebanon, Tennessee;
2 sons: Don Davis of Nashville, Tennessee and Daryl Davis of Eagle River, Alaska;
2 step-sons: Bryant Young of Savannah, Tennessee and Walker Young Florence, Alabama; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Virgil Davis of Knoxville, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Davis.
