Betty Tomlinson was born on May 4, 1935 in Morris Chapel, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John M. and Ethel Margaret Holland Smith.
On August 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Edgar Donald Tomlinson, who preceded his wife in death on June 2, 2020.
Mrs. Tomlinson was a member of Adamsville Church of Christ in Adamsville, Tennessee. She worked for many years for Hardin County Middle School and West Hardin Elementary School. She later retired from Irby Construction Company where she worked as a groundskeeper. Betty enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, and going to church. Most of all, Betty loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Betty Tomlinson departed this life on April 14, 2021 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 10 days.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheila Yvonne Phillips of Florence, Alabama and Donna Lanell McCasland of Adamsville, Tennessee; son, Wesley Donald Tomlinson of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Bryan Mitchell and his wife of Florence, Alabama, Jeff Mitchell and his wife of Lebanon, Tennessee, April Phillips of Knoxville, Tennessee, Contessa Tomlinson of Adamsville, Tennessee, Stephanie McCasland of Adamsville, Tennessee, and Kristopher Tomlinson of Oakdale, Louisiana; and six great granddaughters.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
