Betty Katherine Young Smith
was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on June 26, 1954 the daughter of the late James Cornelius and Nina Inez Nash Young.
In July of 1999 she was united in marriage to Ricky G. Smith, who survives.
Betty had worked as a cashier for various convenience stores for 25 years and was an assistant manager for 5 years for Family Dollar Store. In her spare time she enjoyed drawing, doodling, riding around in the bottoms and on the river. Betty also enjoyed collecting Betty Boop collectables.
She departed this life on Thursday, January 6, 2022 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 11 days.
In addition to her husband of 22 years, Ricky of Savannah, Tennessee, Betty is survived by her two daughters, Devan Westbrook and her husband Billy of Adamsville, Tennessee and Lindsey King of Ramer, Tennessee; stepdaughters, Rachel Smith of Selmer, Tennessee and Brooke Smith of Savannah, Tennessee; stepson, Rickey Smith and his wife Brittany of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Will Westbrook, Trista Westbrook, Mason King, Bailee Smith, Braden Kirk, Rylee King, Jasper Waldrop, Emily Smith, and Timber Smith; two great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Amerson and her husband Kenneth of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, Jo Ann Blanton and her husband Thomas of Crump, Tennessee, and Marylon Brock and her husband Joe of Selmer, Tennessee; and one brother, Tommy Young and his wife Anicec of Pickwick Dam, Tennessee.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy Neal Young and one sister Ruby Faye Young.
