Betty Jo Dunn Ray

Betty Jo Dunn Ray was born September 27, 1930 in Collinwood, TN the daughter of the late Joe and Laura Boyd Dunn. Betty Jo married Bobby Copeland Ray on October 15, 1955. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1996.

Betty Jo never met a stranger and was never at a loss for words. She enjoyed life and activities, but above all she loved her family, especially her boys and grandchildren. She was a member of the Collinwood Methodist Church. She loved all animals, especially dogs. She also loved her flowers and artwork. Betty Jo was an active member of the Collinwood Home Demonstration Club until she became unable to participate. Playing with her precious dog, Tuffy, watching basketball, especially her favorite team the Golden State Warriors, babysitting her grandchildren, and cheering her grandchildren on in any sports or endeavor were her favorite hobbies.

Betty Jo departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 21 days. She is survived by three sons, Biff Ray and wife, Joyce of Athens, AL, Joe Ray and wife, Penny and Mark Ray and wife, Gwyn all of Collinwood, TN; seven grandchildren, Ryan Ray, Nicole Eslick, Tyler Ray, Brady Risner, Lacee Ray, Jodee Ray and Kelby Ray; ten great-grandchildren, Chloe Ray, Jacob Eslick, Charlie Eslick, Ella Ray, Dax Risner, Anna Claire Ray, Savannah Ray, Copeland Ray, Cruz Risner and Heidi Ray; and a brother, Joh Frank Dunn of Anniston, AL.

Graveside services will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 1 pm at Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, TN with Jason Janes officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family. Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 11 am to service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood, TN.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Ray, Tyler Ray, Jodee Ray, Kelby Ray, Jeremy Eslick and Adrian Risner.
