Betty Louise Peevyhouse, age 70 of Middleton, passed away Wednesday morning, March 23, 2016, at her home near Rogers Springs.
She was born on Wednesday, January 30, 1946, to the late Neely Ernest "Bud" and Mary Christine Sweat Allen in Rogers Springs, TN. She was a graduate of Middleton High School, Class of 1964, and she graduated from Union University, as valedictorian of the Class of 1971. Betty was registered nurse and a cattle farmer. She was proud to be a 70 year old angus farmer. She worked at the Hardeman County Health Department, Western Mental Healthcare Institute, Pro-Care, and found Sitters & More in 1999 and had continued as a consultant for their Middle Tennessee division in recent years. She was a member of the New Hope Church of Christ and taught the ladies' Bible class. Betty loved farm life where she enjoyed fishing with her grandchildren, counting her cattle, and riding her ATV. She spent much of her life living in Hardeman Co., but also lived approximately fifteen years in Jackson, TN.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth Peevyhouse of Blue Goose, TN; a son, Bo Peevyhouse of Nashville, TN; a sister, Linda Wilbanks of Middleton, TN; three grandchildren, Cullin Dawson Woods, Jax Cale Luther, and Addisyn Faith Peevyhouse; and a brother-in-law, Billy Peevyhouse.
In addition to her parents, she is preceeded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Leon Allen, Sr. and Terry "Tut" Gardner; a step-father, Lynn Walker; and her former husband, Jimmy Peevyhouse.
