Betty Oakley was born on March 15, 1951 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Edgar and Virginia Vina Murphy Smith.

Betty was united in marriage to Leroy Oakley, who preceded her in death.

Betty worked in Nursing at Tri County Nursing. She formerly worked at Aqua Glass. Betty was a member of Peoples Taberacle Church. She liked reading books and walking. Betty was a joyful person to be around.

Betty departed this life on June 10, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 73 years, 2 months, and 26 days.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Millstead; and sisters, Dorothy White and Norma Sue Smith.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Deshazier, Peggy Nance, and Louise Deshazier.
