In 1954, she graduated from Chester County High School and received further education at West Tennessee Business College. She worked for Chester County High School. Most will remember her when she was employed as a medical assistant and office manager for The Medical Building in Henderson, which later became The Jackson Clinic. Betty was a faithful, life-long member of the First United Methodist Church. Over many years, she served the church on their administrative board and used her musical talent as a choir member, soloist, pianist, and children’s choir leader. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, working with children at church, teaching piano and being with family. She also volunteered at Gleaner’s House, a church-sponsored group serving the needy. She is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Eugene Horn, of Macon, GA, and is survived by a sister, Claudia Moore (Jerry), of Greenfield, TN. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ed Morris, and her sons, Jeff (Lynn) of Collierville, TN, Joe (Charlene) of Peach Tree City, GA, and daughter, Carol Pope (Steve) of Oviedo, FL. Seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren lovingly called her “Nana”.
