Betty Ruth Martin of Collinwood, TN was born March 21, 1946 in Wayne Co., Tennessee, the daughter of the late Mahon and Mary Elizabeth Newborn Martin. She was united in marriage to Harvey Earl Martin on May 24, 1985. Mrs. Martin was a reitred factory worker at Murray Ohio Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the Church of Christ, had been the Collinwood Girl Scouts Leader for over 25 years, was the Wayne County Servant Units Leader for the Girl Scouts, and was President of the Collinwood American Legion Auxillary. Mrs. Martin departed this life on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at her home following a lengthy illness at the age of 64 Years, 9 Months. She is survived by her husband, Harvey Earl Martin; daughter, Tina Carol Wright and husband, Tony and grandsons, Brodie and Ean Wright all of Collinwood, TN; step-daughters, Violet Gobbell and Lisa Mitchell both of Waynesboro, TN, Donna Martin of Athens, AL; stepsons, William (Billy) Martin and Harvey Wayne Martin both of Collinwood, TN; 14 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Ellis Martin, Robert Martin, Tom Martin all of Collinwood, TN; seven sisters, Annie Lou Lineberry of Huntsville, AL, Mattie Hickerson, Nettie Sanderson, Nell Daniel, Helen Daniel, and Hetty Roberts of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Collinwood Church of Christ in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Jimmy Martin and Roger Villines officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Visitation will begin at 6 pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2010.
