Mrs. Betty Lou Mannon, age 82 of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed from this life Wednesday morning, August 3, 2016 at her home at the Trinity Retirement Center in Columbus, Mississippi.
Mrs. Mannon was born in Bolivar, Tennessee on Tuesday, January 2, 1934 to the late Robert Luther and Girlean Chandler Clifft. On Sunday, February 21, 1954, she was united in marriage to Mr. Ed Mannon, who preceded her in death September 7, 1989.
She worked as a farmer and homemaker and was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Her fondest pastimes included gardening, quilting, collecting antiques, and most recently, visiting with her friends at the Trinity Retirement Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Lindy Carson and husband Rob of Columbus, Mississippi; sister, Martha Jewel Anderson and husband Walter of Bolivar; grandchildren, Chris McKinney and (Robin), and Courtney McKinney (Ross Grandi); great-grandchildren, Gracie Byrd, and Eli Samuel McKinney; nephews, Brad Anderson (Christy), Jeff Anderson, and Wes Anderson (Ashley); and various cousins and loved ones.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Sherry Teresa Mannon and Robert Samuel Mannon, both of whom passed away July 27, 1971, and Patty Mannon McKinney, who passed away April 9, 2012; a great-grandson, Brennan Michael McKinney; and two infant brothers.
