Betty Jo Hester

March 28, 1934 — June 15, 2019

Betty Jo Hester was born March 28, 1934 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Carl and Lucille Moore Lipford.

She was united in marriage to Ray A. Hester on June 18, 1955.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Bethel Springs for 45 years, she had a servant's heart and loved the Lord. She loved delivering meals to peoples home and spending time with them. She was a charter member of Lioness, a former Lioness of the year, and a member of Adamsville BPA (Business Professional).

She loved traveling with her family especially to the mountains. Her sense of direction was not to be trusted, she along with her son-in-law were both directionaly challenged. She had beautiful flowers in her yard and enjoyed working in her vegetable garden.

Ms. Betty loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought her much happiness and joy. Shopping was not a favorite pastime but she loved taking her grand daughters, Randa and Abbey.

Mrs. Hester departed this life on June 15, 2019 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 2 Months, 18 Days. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ray A. Hester of Bethel Springs, TN; a daughter, Paula Chandler and husband James of Adamsville, TN; two sons, Ricky Hester and Christine of Bethel Springs, TN, Randy Hester of Finger, TN; four brothers, Allen Lipford and wife Linda of Adamsville, TN, Sam Lipford of Nashville, TN, Danny Lipford of Lawton, TN, Gary Lipford and wife Jennie of Selmer, TN; two sisters, Mary Sisk and husband Buddy of Bethel Springs, TN, Fran Jamerson and husband Harry of Lakeland, TN; sister-in-law, Dee Hester McIntyre; four grandchildren, Mathew Hester and wife Erica, Nic Chandler, Randa Hawkins and husband J.T., Abbey Hester; two great grandchildren, Ryleigh Anne Hester, John Thomas Hawkins; special caregivers, Legacy Hospice - Paige, Hannah and Bro. Joe, Senior Solutions - Natalie and Felicia, and Magnolia Hospice; a caring doctor and friend, Dr. Ryan Bartz; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy (Bub) Lipford, Billie Stinson Lipford; a sister, Jimmie Kathryn Gray.
