Betty Brewer

February 2, 1940 — March 28, 2025

Waynesboro, TN

Betty Brewer, age 85, of Waynesboro, TN, passed away on March 28, 2025. She was born on February 2, 1940, in Iron City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Willie George and Velma Lillis Kelley Brewer.

Betty’s journey through life was marked by her enduring love and commitment. She married her beloved husband, Johnnie Franklin Brewer, on October 5, 1956. Their bond was profound, and although he preceded her in death on September 29, 2018, his memory remained a beacon of love in her heart.

Betty dedicated many years of her life to her work at Clover Bottom in Nashville, TN, where she served faithfully as a housekeeper until her retirement. Her unwavering dedication extended beyond her job; as she was also a long-standing member of Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Cypress Inn, TN.

A woman of simple pleasures, Betty found joy in tending to her garden and was particularly fond of flower gardening. She enjoyed challenging herself with word search puzzles and delighting in her favorite television shows. However, nothing brought her greater joy than the love she shared with her family. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and her legacy of love will continue to bloom through them.

As we remember Betty, we celebrate a life filled with kindness, devotion, and warmth. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love her.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen Nielson of Waynesboro, TN, and Sherry Hildreth (Greg) of Pomona, CA; brothers, Jordan Brewer (Judy) of IL, and Johnny R. Brewer of Westpoint, TN; sisters, Jane McDow (James) of Collinwood, TN, and Wanda Hendrix of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Christopher Neil Nielson (Marsha), Kevin Scott Nielson (Krissy), Amber Corinne Nielson, Ashlee Karin Bentley (Robert), Joshua Quentin Hildreth (Amy), Ciara Nicole Hildreth, and Rebecca Rich; great grandchildren, Trevor, Trace, Kalun, Kadence, Rayden, Jayden, Camden, Dean, Cole, Ella, and Ian; and great-great grandchild, Tara Ann.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by son, Johnny George Brewer; brother, Ernest Brewer; and sisters, Maurene McIntyre, Lois Kelley, Iva Dean Lafan, and Addie Mae Weaver.
