was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on December 5, 1932 the daughter of the late Hubert Alonzo and Lillie Mae Ricketts McDonald
On September 18, 1948 she was united in marriage to J.D. Baxter, who preceded her in death on January 20, 1995. Mrs. Baxter was a retired machine operator for H.I.S. Manufacturing and attended Havannah Church.
She departed this life on December 23, 2006 at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 74 years and 18 days.
Mrs. Baxter is survived by a son, David Steve Baxter and his wife, Opal, of Olivehill, Tennessee; a daughter, Amy Jill Mitchell and her husband, Dennis, of Savannah, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren: Andrea Baxter Dodd, Felicia Baxter Chase, Alisha Baxter Brown, Courtney Mitchell and Zachary Mitchell; 6 great-grandchildren: Jessica Franks,
Te Ja Alley, Olivia Chase, Dakota Franks, Gavin Brown and Cejae Brown; and
2 brothers: Hollis McDonald of Enville, Tennessee and S.L. McDonald of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Ratha Nell Vickery and Lackie Dodson and 4 brothers: J.W., Ronnie, Douglas and Jerry Franklin McDonald.
