Bessie Leona Brown departed this life on February 20, 2015 at the age of 91 years and 17 days. She was born on February 3, 1924, daughter to the late Edgar and Louiza Wood Hodge. She was united in marriage to Woodrow Wilson Brown, who preceded her in death.
Bessie was a homemaker and lived in Savannah, Tennessee. She was also a member of the Soul's Harbor church.
She is survived by her children, Joyce Rose Mitchell and her husband, Jim H., Linda Arnold Milam, Dennis Ray Barnett and his wife, Connie, Teresa Barnett Petree and her husband, Jason, and Mary Barnett Oliver and her husband, William; grandchildren, Kenny Ray Milam, Sherry Milam Johnson, Mary Oliver Gooch and her husband, Josh, Sharon Mitchell Cooper and her husband, Greg, Freda Mitchell Kennedy and her husband, Gary, and Rayford Dean Mitchell; nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her children, W. C. Rose and an infant son; sister, Bertha Hodge Cummings; and grandchild, Curtis Allen Bonee.
