Bessie Lucile Bishop, 92, of Middleton, died Monday morning, February 13, 2006 at Bolivar General Hospital.
The widow of Rev. William Bryan Bishop, who died in 1977, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Bishop was born February 5, 1914 in Vildo, daughter of the late James Thomas Goodman and Dora Medlin Goodman and lived in many places in West Tennessee and West Kentucky while her husband was in ministry. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Middleton.
Services were 11 am Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Middleton chapel with Adrian Knipper officiating. Burial was in the Bishop Family Cemetery near Middleton.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Bishop Neely of Louisville, KY and Lucile Bishop Callahan of Middleton; two sons, John William Bishop of Middleton and Jimmy Bishop of Brownsville; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, June Bishop Dickerson and one son, Bryan Bishop, Jr.
