Bertha Rowland

Bertha Armour Rowland was born January 23, 1917 in Chester County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Anthony Wayne and Mary Burkeen Armour.She was united in marriage to Ulys Presley Rowland on September 7, 1934. Mr. Rowland preceded her in death on January 21, 2008.Mrs. Rowland was a homemaker. She was a charter member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Selmer, Tennessee. Mrs. Rowland enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking for her family. She made many cakes and wonderful fried pies especially chocolate.Mrs. Rowland departed this life on June 10, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 4 Months, 18 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Anita Hilliard of Amory, MS; four sons, Carnell Rowland and wife Erma of Selmer, TN, Frank Rowland of Athens, AL, Jimmy Rowland and wife Patti of Germantown, TN, Marty Rowland and wife Jane of Afton, OK; two sisters, Sadie Brennon of Germantown, TN, Wayne Nona Warren of Brownsville, TN; a brother, Burl Armour of Selmer, TN; 9 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rowland was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Lela Rowland; infant granddaughter, Jan Anita Hilliard; 4 sisters; 3 brothers.
