April 14, 1952 — July 29, 2022

.Bertha Hall Hopson departed from this life on July 29, 2022. She was born April 14, 1952 to James Price and Lois L. Hall Boyd, who later married her bonus dad, Jessie Boyd.

Bertha was raised in Stanton, Tennessee and graduated from Haywood High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Affectionately referred to as “Mrs. Hopson”, she was a well-respected teacher, role model, and mentor. This was one of the many things she shared with the love of her life, Vincent Hopson who she was married to for over 46 years. Together they raised two beautiful daughters whom they were devoted to: Alisa and Amy aka “The Girls”.

Bertha was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She was a lifetime member of the Hardin County Junior Auxiliary and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Bertha was also a dedicated member of Graham Chapel CME Church where she served on both the usher and missionary boards. In addition, she also demonstrated her passion for education by teaching Children’s Sunday School.
