Bertha Dee Ganus Hindman departed this life on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the age of 91 years, 3 months, and 18 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on June 20, 1925 the daughter of the late William Ganus and Elzie Mae Milligan Webb. On September 3, 1947 she was united in marriage to Webster Hindmon, who survives.
Mrs. Hindman retired from Pickwick Landing State Park where she was a housekeeper. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening, and crafting. She was of Pentecostal belief.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Odes Webster Hindmon of Michie, Tennessee; children, William Monroe Sagely and wife, Sandra of Tishomingo, Mississippi, Mary Jane Shook and husband, James of Michie, Tennessee, Odes Webster Hindman, Jr. and wife, Ruth of Tishomingo, Mississippi, Vonnie Lee Pounders and husband, Melvin of Iuka, Mississippi, Margaret Louella Wolfe and husband, Gary of Fayetteville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Katherine Balch, Shirley Clayton, Mitchell Sagely, Carolyn Bennett, David Cornelius, Jr., and Steed Shook; great grandchildren, Kimberly Gammill, Amanda Balch, Angel Hudson, Angela Clayton, Kayla Barnes, Kaitlyn Clayton, Mitchell Sagely, Jr., Ellen Sagely, Mary Ellen Southward, Wayland White, Jr., Brittany Shook, David Cornelius III, and Declan Cornelius; and seven great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Evelyn Christina Hindman Edwards; brother, W. R. Ganus; sister, Birdie Mae Willcutt; grandson, William Monroe Sagely, Jr.; stepfather, Tom E. Webb; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Hindman.
