BERT SMITH BLACKWELDER





Was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 19, 1918 the son of the late Tony and Daisy Meadows Blackwelder.



On October 25, 1939 he was united in marriage to the former Lois Shelby, who survives.



Mr. Blackwelder was a self-employed plummer. He was a member of the Clifton Masonic Lodge for 60 years and Shriners #173. Mr. Blackwelder was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church.



He departed this life on September 22, 2005 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah at the age of 87 years and 3 days.



Other than his wife, Lois of Savannah, he is survived by 2 sons, Larry and Jerry Blackwelder, both of Savannah.



2 grandchildren, Amy Garrison of Nashville, Tennessee and Dale Blackwelder of Savannah.



2 great-grandchildren, Karley Blackwelder and Audrey Blackwelder.



One sister, Margaret Northcutt of Savannah



5 brothers, Hugh, James P., Tommy, J. E. and Dan Blackwelder, all of Savannah.



Mr. Blackwelder was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sarah Evans and Emogene Polk and 2 brothers, Burnace and Vaughn Blackwelder.
