Bernice Christian was born in Perry County, Tennessee on February 13, 1915 the daughter of the late James Melvin Butler and Ellen O'della Gibson Butler.On September 17, 1932 she was united in marriage to William Kerry Christian, who preceded her in death on October 20, 1968.Mrs. Christian retired from her job as a sewing machine operator with Iuka Shirt Company. She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Iuka, Mississippi. During her life, Mrs. Christian had lived in Savannah, Tennessee, Clifton, Tennessee and Iuka, Mississippi.She departed this life on May 27, 2007 at the Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka, Mississippi at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 14 days.Mrs. Christian is survived by a daughter, Sue Nell Christian Williams of Iuka, Mississippi; three grandchildren: Myra Bernice Williams,Kerry Williams and his wife, Leigh, and Carol Sue Nichols and her husband, Tommy; and two great-grandchildren: Whitney Nichols and Marianna Nichols.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-grandchild, Marlee LeAnne Williams;five sisters: Pearly Mathis, Bessie Tinnin, Bertha Culp, Melvin Allen and Anne Steele; and one brother, Marion Gavard Butler.
