Benton Brown

BENTON BROWN



Was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on March 11, 1922 the son of the late Tom and Oma Sherrill Brown.



On November 30, 1946 he was united in marriage to the former Gladys Melson, who survives.



Mr. Brown was a custodian for Tennessee River Pulp and Paper for 12 years and 10 years at Hardin County High School. He was Minister of Plummer’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was a member of Hardin County Ministerial Association. He was a United States Army Veteran.



Mr. Brown departed this life on June 4, 2006 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 2 months and 24 days.



Other than his wife, Gladys of Savannah, he is survived by one daughter, Iva Farris of Savannah and one son, Robert (Bobby)Brown of Harvard, Illinois.



One daughter-in-law, Linda Brown and one son-in-law, Jack Farris.



3 grandchildren, Michael Farris, Christina Brown and Timothy Brown.



3 great-grandchildren, Ian Brown, Trinity Brown and Trent Brown.



2 sisters, Kathleen Morgan and Jewel Helton, both of Wayne County, Tennessee



2 brothers, John David and Eugene Brown, both of Hardin County, Tennessee.



Mr. Brown was also preceded in death by 9 brothers and sisters.
