Pinson, TN: Beatrice Geary, age 89, died Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2008, at Jackson General Hospital.
Mrs. Geary was born in Butler County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Albert Marion and Donna Gary Phelps. She lost her mother at an early age of four years old. She attended schools in Butler County and in 1935 was married to Melvin Geary also of Butler County, Ky. They made their home in Louisville, KY were Mr. Geary was employed by Conalco. They later moved to Jackson in 1949 where he transferred with Conalco.
Bro. Geary began his ministry in 1950 and he and Mrs. Geary served churches in Tennessee and Mississippi. Mrs. Geary was a strong born again Christian woman, devoted
to her husband of 61 years, and supported him in all aspects of his ministry. She was a member of the Cave Springs Baptist Church were she had served as a Sunday school teacher in the primary department and has sung in a gospel group.
As a devoted mother and grandmother she had love and joy in her heart that she shared with each of her family.
Cherishing her memory are her four children; Yondell Geary and wife Stella of Jackson, Bro. Ronnie Geary and wife Pam of Henderson, Stella Yvonne Geary a special child for whom Mrs. Geary cared for for over 65 years and Pat Davidson and husband Glenn of Pinson. She has eight grandchildren; Mark Geary (Kathy), Danny Geary (Linda), Bryan Geary (Annette), Gary Davidson (Jennifer), Kevin Davidson (Marla), Ronnie Geary, Jr. (Missy), Kelly Crowe (Tim), and Stacy Newman (B.J.). She has 19 great grandchildren, two of which she babysat; Hayden and Peyton Davidson. She was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Cameron Newman and a daughter-in-law Patsy Geary who had been in the family for 42 years. She has a half sister Betty Howk of Louisville and was pre-deceased by five brothers and three sisters.
The family will forever be so grateful for the love and care that was provided to their mother by Cindy Hamilton who provide care for all of Mrs. Geary’s confinement and to the other special ladies; Phyllis Lackey, Barbara Hemby, Linda Thompson, Diane Clayton, Debbie Clayton, Darlene Powell, Sherri Thomas, Brittany Denbow, Jean Graham, Sherry Roark, Lillie Terry and Brenda Crouse. All of these ladies Mrs. Geary loved and adopted.
The family would also like to express their appreciation to Dr. Nicole Jennings and Dr. Daisy Antique for their special care and attention.
