Beatrice Ferguson Foster

Beatrice Ferguson Foster, 96, formerly of Somerville, passed away Tues., November 21, 2023, at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Private services will be held at a later date.

She was born on September 12, 1927, in Ladelle, Arkansas, daughter of the late  Brown Willie Ferguson and Mary Lutheria Lee Ferguson.  She married James Carroll Foster on Saturday, August 18, 1951, and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2013.  She was retired as a teacher/administrator with the public school system, enjoying her work and gardening.  Mrs. Foster was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Somerville.

Survivors include her son, John Lewis Foster of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, B. W. Ferguson of Little Rock, Arkansas; a grandson, James Foster (Robyn) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and two great grandchildren, Cathrine and Ringan Foster.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Rubye Spencer and Lena Jeffers.  Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to the First Presbyterian Church in Somerville, TN.
