William Barry Gilchrist departed this life on January 13, 2023 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 68 years, 10 months, and 4 days. He was born on March 9, 1954 in Jackson, Tennessee, the son of the late Wayne and Martha Gilchrist.
Barry was a talented musician who learned to play by ear, you could give him any instrument and he would master it instantly. Of course, his favorite instrument has always been the guitar where his talent really shined. He enjoyed creating his own music, inspired by Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Led Zeppelin. In addition to his love for music, he was quite the chef and artist, constantly utilizing his creativity in any capacity.
Barry was passionate about his work, and was an expert in his field as a landscape, hardscape and pondless waterfall designer. Much of his work can be seen in the Savannah, and Nashville areas. His projects were incredibly beautiful, and brought so much happiness to his clients. There is comfort knowing his work will continue to live on.
His children were so proud of their father, he was very loved by his family and friends and will be missed. We know he's up in Heaven jamming with his favorite musicians, and finally reuniting with his parents, who he deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Christin Gilchrist of Thompsons Station, Tennessee; son, Chad Gilchrist of Nashville, Tennessee; and brothers Anthony Gilchrist of Savannah, Tennessee and Stanley Gilchrist of Palm Coast, Florida.
Barry is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Martha Gilchrist.
