Barnie (Bonnie) Ellen Lambert, age 92, of Scotts Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016 at Westwood Healthcare & Rehab in Decaturville, TN.
The widow of Alvie Lambert, she worked on the line at the Milan Arsenal in her younger years. She was born January 24, 1924, in Point Pleasant in Decatur County, the eldest of 14 children born to Albert Curt and Merely Mae Creasy Austin, and lived her life in the Scotts Hill area. Barnie had a love of the outdoors and always wanted to spend time with her family. She especially liked gardening and taking her nieces and nephews fishing, whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Red Walnut Church of Christ.
Survivors include 4 sisters and a brother in law, Ollie Fay Evans, Kathleen McVey and Julia Carr, all of Scotts Hill and Mary Alice (J.L.) Yarbro of Brighton; 2 brothers and a sister in law, Charles C. Austin of New Braunsfel, Texas and Billy (Linda) Austin of Scotts Hill; and 34 nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters, LuDean Austin, Colleen Wilbanks, Irma Dean Austin and Betty Buczynski and 3 brothers, Ernest (Herbert) Austin, Landon Austin and MacArthur (Mac) Austin. Memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
