Barbara Pitt

Barbara Pitt, 74, of Middleton, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Magnolia Hospital in Corinth.  

A native of Tulsa, OK, Mrs. Pitt was the daughter of the late John William and Pauline Hines Winford and met her future husband while attending the University of Memphis.  She was united in marriage for nearly 54 years to Mr. Frank "Bo" Pitt, Jr., who survives.  They were married on Wednesday, July 7, 1971. 

Additionally, Mrs. Pitt is survived by two sons, Frank Allen Pitt, III (Ashly)) of Memphis and John Bradley Pitt, Sr. (Wendy Vires) of Eads; one brother, John Winford; and two sisters, Janie and Donna Winford, all of Tulsa, OK; three grandchildren, Frank A. Pitt, IV, Lucy May Pitt and John B. Pitt, Jr.; and a sister-in-law, Rebecca Howard (Dr. Mark) of Jackson.  She was preceded, also, in death by her in-laws, Frank A. Pitt, Sr. and Lucille Pitt.

Mrs. Pitt was a retired office manager for the Woodrun POA near Middleton.  She also had managed offices for Dr. Jere Yates, OD and Riggs, Inc. Trucking Company.

She was active as a member of the Middleton First Baptist Church where she taught the primary grades Sunday School class for 20 years.  Previously, in Memphis, she taught the same age group at Faith Baptist Church.

She was a 1969 graduate of Edison High School in Tulsa and, in her leisure time, enjoyed cooking antique hunting and fishing.
