Barbara Hensley, age 75 of Saulsbury, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday evening, February 13, 2019 at her home.
She was born in Memphis Saturday, August 7, 1943 to the late Jack Wilford and Reba Lillian Terry Watkins. On her twentieth birthday, Wednesday, August 7, 1963, she was united in marriage to Mr. John B. Hensley, who survives. She worked as a homemaker and was a member of the Saulsbury Baptist Church as well as the Women's Missionary Union. Aside from living in Memphis for a few years, she lived her entire life in Hardeman County.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Bassett and husband Matthew of Sanford, NC; sons, Jeffrey Keith Hensley and wife Mabel of Memphis, and Randy Hensley and wife Barbara of Grand Junction; sisters, Diane Adams of Bolivar, Lisa Goad of Middleton and Karen Watkins of Saulsbury; brothers, Tommy Watkins of Summerfield, FL, Barry Watkins of Bolivar, Johnny Ray Watkins of Sevierville, and Tracy Watkins of Saulsbury.
She also leaves nineteen grandchildren, Jesse, Heather, Trey and Tristan Hensley, Lasha Hobbs (Barney T.), Tarra Robinson (Tony), Miranda Clark (Jon), Meagan Lewis (Richie), Monica and Michelle Chambers, Candace Stevens (Brandon), Erica Ruiz-Woodka (Brendan), Reba and Colby Hensley, Jocie Gestl (Brian), Lindsey Flowers (Darnelle), Matthew and Chalton Bassett, and John Erik Sunekaer; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Molly Kate and Easton Hobbs, Turner Robinson, Maddox Hensley, Miles and Maverick Gestl, Darnelle Flowers, Jr., Elisha, Caleb, Khalie, Jacob and Jonathan Watkins, Odin Chambers, Abbie, Lexie, Sydney and Kassidy Robinson, Regan, Trae and Tyson Hobbs, Kale'a McNeill, Emma Bassett and Rylee Grace Davis; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alaka and Amaury Turner.
Mrs. Hensley was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Redgie Hensley, who died July 19, 2016; great-grandchild, Ashton Hensley; sister, Linda Mayes; and brother, Ronny Watkins.
