BARBARA GRIMES

Henderson, TN: Barbara Sue Matthews Grimes age 67 passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at her sister’s home in Henderson.

She was born December 30, 1948 in Chester County, the Old Friendship Community, the daughter of the late Henry and Lela Moore Matthews. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1966. She worked at Grinnell Corporation and that is where she met Howard Grimes and they were married in 1984. They owned and operated Grimes Country Kitchen at Saltillo,
Grimes Reagan Café in Reagan, Skylark Restaurant in Henderson and then Grimes Ranch House in Lexington, where they retired. Mr. Grimes preceded in death in 2011.

Mrs. Grimes is survived by two daughters, Julie Collins and Barbara Pritchard both of Lexington; three grandchildren, two brothers, Jimmy Matthews of Henderson and Jerry Matthews of Byron, GA and two sisters, Kathleen Kilzer and Carolyn Rouse both of Henderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Howard Grimes in 2011, three brothers, Joe Matthews, Tony Matthews and Billy Matthews and two sisters, Arlene Matthews and Brenda Matthews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday April 20, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ken Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow in Old Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday.
