Barbara Gennette Daniel McNeese Gorman

Barbara Gennette Daniel McNeese Gorman of Olive Branch, MS, was born August 3, 1940 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late Jimmy Calvin and Ruby Berry Daniel. She was united in marriage to Johnnie Charles McNeese on June 7, 1958 and he preceded her in death on July 3, 1997. She then married Kalif Ray Gorman on October 9, 2004.

Mrs. Gorman was a homemaker and a member of the Cross Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi and departed this life Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 2 Months, 6 Days.

She is survived by her husband, Kalif Ray Gorman of Olive Branch, MS; a son, Bryan McNeese and wife, Sharon of Goldsboro, NC; a daughter, Monica Daniel of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan McNeese and wife, Ashley, Rebecca Taylor and husband, Ryan, Rachel Maxwell and husband, Jeff, Megan Perkins and husband, Brett; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Jackson Daniel and Ruby Claire Maxwell, Alice McNeese and Keaten Perkins; a brother, James C. (Sonny) Daniel of Collinwood, TN; sisters, Reba Dawson and Tricia Thurmond both of Gates, TN, Melba Daniel of Collinwood, TN, Ethel Holt and Judy Dean Strait both of Cypress Inn, TN, Gail Edwards of Toney, AL and Felecia Paul of Huntsville, AL; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Mrs. Gorman was preceded in death by a sister, Remona Creecy.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Jerrell Dawson and Jonathan McNeese officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 11 am until service time at the funeral home.
