Artie E. Gurley was born January 13, 1916 in Waterloo, Alabama the daughter of the late Ira Johnson and Myrtle Franks Scott.Mrs. Gurley was a Homemaker. She was a member of the Butler's Chapel Baptist Church in Chewalla, Tennessee.Mrs. Gurley departed this life on March 6, 2008 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 92 Years, 1 Month and 22 Days Old.She is survived by six daughters, Barbara Williams of Imperial, MO, Loyce Heavener of Ripley, MS, Sue Thrasher of Molton, AL, Glenda Scott of Chewalla, TN, Bobbie Dickey of Ramer, TN and Bonnie Gurley of Chewalla, TN; three sons, Leslie Gurley of Malvern, AK, Billy Gurley of Shiloh, TN and Donald Gurley of Parrish, FL; two sisters, Mary Alice Hawkins of Selmer, TN and Christine Johnson of Nashville, TN; a brother, Ira B. Johnson Jr. of Corinth, MS and a stepbrother, Richard Reed of Corinth, MS; 23 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gurley was preceded in death by her husband James Clay Gurley; three sisters, Lowrrane Busby, Lucille Baldwin, Grace Johnson and a great grandchild.
